De Reuver makes progress Date: 2009-06-17 15:48:50 | Author: Daniele Rizzi The conditions of GP winner Marc de Reuver, who broke two vertebrae and dislocated his hip at the beginning of May while training, are now improving after a delicate hip operation.
As the latest press release concerning the Martin Honda man reports: “His hip is ok and he can now walk without help”.
De Reuver is due to resume training soon and looks forward to a Grand Prix comeback, even though the date is not yet known. A further medical check-up in three weeks might bring more news.
On the other hand his team mate Strijbos, who is also out with a wrist injury, is due to comeback at the Belgian GP in Lommel on August 2 while the Martin Honda squad has decided to line up former World Champion –and former Martin Honda rider- Mickael Pichon from Great Britain until Germany.
The Frenchman’s short but successful commitment will then end this weekend.
