It is the industrial-agricultural town, that has a place of municipal authority, small business and employment center. Neighborhood Ředického Pond is a protected ornithological site. The town of Holice was mainly known by its native - Dr.Emil Holub, who was one of the first Europeans exploring and mapping the Black Continent od Africa.
The first race on Poběžovice Racetrack was held in 1951. That year is the beginning of the motocross history not only of Holice, but also of Czech and world motocross. The original organizer - ZO Svazarm was transformed into public organization AMK Holice in the beginning of the 90's. The track with its capacity, profile, width and length lets shine not only professional riders participating in famous races but also amateurs on their own personal battles.
ABOUT THE RACE
French Team MB rider Julien Vanni (Honda) is still the leader of the MX3 World Championship Classification but last two events were not too successful for him. Pierre Alexandre Renet (Suzuki) and Alex Salvini (Husqvarna) are becoming more and more dangerous for his leading position, as they are riding more constantly. Alex Salvini, the winner of the last MX3 event could get some useful informations from his team manager Andrea Bartolini, who clinched his first World Championship victory right here at Holice, in 1990. Also Finnish rider Antti Pyrhonen (Honda) is more self confident after he took the podium in Chile. The attraction of the race will be Chilean rider Pablo Quintanila, who will be the first Chilean rider participating at the MX3 World Championship event in Europe.
EMX2 riders will be back after one month break. Christophe Charlier (France) from the Team Yamaha Gariboldi Racing is coming to Czech Republic as the current Championship leader, with six points of advantage in front of Jeffrey Herlings from the team JM Racing. They had the explosive beginning of the season 2009. After the round in Portugal the season has started to develop in the interesting way. Charlier was defeated for the first time and the motivation of other riders which want to be on the top has grown.
